How to Watch Apollo Television on VLC Media Player

Last updated

VLC is a free player from VideoLAN for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS. It's the fastest way to check that your Apollo Television line works, because it needs no account and no sign-in: paste the M3U address and the first channel starts. It has no TV guide, so for everyday watching move to a full IPTV player afterwards.

01Step by step on VLC Media Player

  1. 1

    Install VLC

Download VLC from videolan.org, or from Google Play or the App Store on a phone.

  2. 2

    Open the M3U address

On a computer, choose Media → Open Network Stream, paste the Apollo Television M3U address and press Play.

    • Windows: Media → Open Network Stream
    • Mac: File → Open Network
    • Phone: Network stream → paste the address

Your activation message (sent on WhatsApp a few minutes after you order) holds the username, password and server or M3U address. Treat them like a password: anyone who has them uses one of your plan's connections.

  3. 3

    Show the full channel list

Open the playlist (View → Playlist, or Ctrl+L on Windows) to see every channel and jump between them.

  4. 4

Move to a full player when you're happy

VLC is ideal for testing. For categories and a TV guide, set up IPTV Smarters or TiviMate with the same details.

FAQ

VLC Media Player: problems and fixes

VLC plays one channel and stops there

That's normal. VLC starts the first item in the playlist. Open the playlist panel to choose others.

VLC says it can't open the address

Make sure you pasted the whole M3U address into Open Network Stream, not Open File, with no spaces at either end.
