Apollo Group TV Error Codes: Fix Status Code 403, 400 and Timeouts
Last updated
Apollo Group TV status code 403 means the server received your request but refused it, almost always because the plan has expired, the login details don't match, or every connection on the plan is already in use. Status code 400 usually points to a mistyped server URL, and a connection timeout means your device couldn't reach the server at all. Find your code in the table below, then follow its fix. This page covers Apollo Television lines played in IPTV Smarters, TiviMate and other player apps; another provider's own app may use its codes differently.
Apollo Group TV error codes at a glance
| Code or message | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| 400 Bad Request | The server couldn't read the request, usually because of a typo in the server URL | Re-enter the server URL exactly as written in your activation message |
| 401 Unauthorized | The username or password wasn't recognized | Retype both; they're case-sensitive |
| 403 Forbidden | Login refused: expired plan, all connections in use, or access blocked | Follow the 403 steps below |
| 404 Not Found | That channel or video is no longer at that address | Reload the playlist so the player gets the current channel list |
| 429 Too Many Requests | Too many requests in a short time, for example switching channels very fast | Wait a minute, then try again |
| 500, 502 or 503 | A problem on the server, not your device | Wait a few minutes; message us if it doesn't clear |
| 504 or Connection timeout | Your device couldn't reach the server in time | Follow the connection timeout steps below |
| Max connections reached | Every connection on your plan is already streaming | Stop playback on another device, or add a connection |
| 433, 456, 458 and other codes | Not standard web codes; their meaning depends on the app or server showing them | Try the 403 steps, then send us a screenshot |
How to fix Apollo Group TV status code 403
Check that your plan is active
Plans are prepaid and don't renew automatically. Once the days run out, the server refuses every request with a 403 until you renew your Apollo Group TV subscription.
Retype your username and password
Copy them from your activation message. Both are case-sensitive, and a single space at the start or end is enough to be refused.
Free up a connection
If other devices are streaming on the same login, stop one of them. Your plan allows as many streams at once as it has connections.
Turn off your VPN to test
Some VPN servers can be refused. Turn the VPN off, or switch to a different VPN server, and try again.
Restart your router
Unplug it for 30 seconds. This can give your home a new IP address, which clears a temporary block on the old one.
Clear the player's cache and reload the playlist
In the player app's settings, clear the cache, then reload or re-add the playlist so it signs in again from scratch.
Still seeing 403 after all six steps? Message us a photo of the error, your device and your username. Never send your password.
How to fix status code 400
- Re-enter the server URL character by character from your activation message, including the http:// at the start and the port number (the digits after the colon).
- Check for spaces before or after the URL, the username and the password; many keyboards add one after a full stop.
- If you sign in with an M3U link instead of Xtream Codes, paste the whole link in one go; a missing character causes a 400.
- Delete the playlist from the player and add it again, rather than editing the old one.
How to fix Apollo TV connection timeout
A connection timeout means the request never got an answer. Work out where it's stuck, then fix that part:
- Try another channel and a second device. If only one device times out, restart that device and clear its player's cache.
- Restart your router and the device, then try again on a cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Change the device's DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 in its network settings; slow or failing DNS is a common cause of timeouts.
- Test on your phone's mobile data. If it works there but not at home, your home connection or internet provider is the problem; a VPN or a different VPN server can help.
- If nothing connects on any device or network, message us so we can check the service.
Buffering that starts and stops, rather than a timeout, is a different problem; see how to stop Apollo Group TV buffering.
Server errors: 500, 502 and 503
These codes come from the server, not from your device, so there's nothing to change on your side. Wait a few minutes and try again. If they don't clear up, message us so we can check.
When to contact support
If the steps above don't fix it, send us the exact code or message (a photo of the screen is best), your device and player app, when it started, and your username. Never include your password.
Every way to reach us is listed on the Apollo Television support contacts page.
